Pearly whites : )

With Christmas behind us and New Years approaching, you probably had one too many glasses of red wine.  If you're anything like me, you're probably thinking of new years resolutions (to break) to make you look your best.  One way to look great is to have a clean, white smile.  Here's a very well known tip that really works!
Take 1 teaspoon of baking soda and put it in a small glass.  Wet your toothbrush and dip it into the baking soda.  Gently brush your teeth.  I wouldn't use an electric toothbrush to do this...because the baking soda is a bit coarser, it's very rough on your gums.  Try this twice a week and see your pearly whites sparkle!
If you can't stand the taste of baking soda, try rubbing a strawberry dipped in baking soda all over your teeth.  The malic acid from the mixture is a natural bleaching agent.

OCC Lip Tar

Product review: OCC lip tar ($13.00 USD)

This stuff is amazing! I recently put them to the test when I wore them shopping. They look like a gloss however they`re super pigmented and opaque. They last all day and are extremely light weight. These tar`s are great for mixing and can be applied not only on the lips but on the cheeks as blush or the eyes as a cream shadow. The key to this product is that a little goes a long way!

holiday nails

With Christmas just around the corner, not only should your outfit be on point, but your nails should too!
My go to color for Christmas is OPI's DS Reflection.  Flecks of sparkle and that holly berry red make these nails a must for the season!
To spice it up a little more, try adding one green nail for some extra flare!!

Hair mask anyone?

For the past few months, I've been on the hunt for the best at home hair treatment.  I've tried numerous combinations before coming upon this awesome treatment.  You'll likely find all of these ingredients in your kitchen.
Being that I have color treated hair as well as the fact that I straighten my hair regularly, my hair tends to get super dry...now add the chilly winter air and can we say Sahara desert on my head!  My hair is dry and brittle.
Anyway, let's get to it!  I've tried numerous combinations of ingredients but one has worked wonders!!
Here goes......olive oil, 2 egg yolks and a few tablespoons of distilled water.  Mix the 3 ingredients vigorously and massage into your hair from root to tip.  Cover your hair with a plastic shower cap and leave in for 15 minutes.  Wash and shampoo well.
This mask is best for those with dry, brittle hair. If your hair is oily, this is not the hair treatment for you!

Versace for H&M

So I was browsing the H&M website and came across this amazing bustier top by none other than Versace!
I love everything about this top from the colors to the structure. You could pair this with an amazing black maxi skirt for an evening look or a pair of dark denim skinny jeans for a more casual look. Don't forget a great statement necklace and a chunky bracelet to finish off the look!

Olive oil anyone?

It's no secret that olive oil has been said to be a great for you, inside and out.  Here's a great beauty secret for you using olive oil.  Smear a dab of olive oil under your eyes before bed to get rid of dark circles.  It's better than your eye cream!  Olive oil is an excellent moisturizer and amazing for your hair but try it under your eyes in place of your eye cream for a week and see the difference!

Extra tip: it's also great to remove your water proof mascara.

New hair dryer!!!

Ok so my hair dryer recently decided to give up so I was on the market for a new one.  I tend not to buy super expensive hair dryers because I typically don't take the best care of my styling tools.  So my hunt for a good and affordable hair dryer began.  The first attempt was at a Conair hair dryer.  It was not good!  I found that it just didn't push enough heat to thoroughly dry my hair.  I ended up having to pass the flat iron through once I was done.  So I decided to check out Sally's Beauty Supply for a better dryer and ended up finding the perfect one!!  The Ion Travel Hair Dryer.  It only has two speed settings; high and low, and a cool shot trigger.  The only downside to this dryer is that it doesn't have any heat settings and if you have very fine fragile hair, it might be too hot for you.  I have very curly hair and found the heat to be perfect!! It's also very affordable. I paid about $50.
I would definitely recommend this dryer, it works!!!  *doing my happy dance*

Don't forget to scrub!

Beauty tip: Are you exfoliating? Exfoliating at least once a week is the key to flawless skin and a flawless makeup application. Simply put a dime sized amount of product in your hands, rub together and rub your face. Remember, there's no need to put too much pressure when exfoliating, just let the product do the work for you. I recommend St. Ives apricot scrub for a low end option or Lancome Exfoliance Clarte for a higher end option.

So now that Fall is here, dark lips are all the rage! One of the hardest things to find is the perfect red lipstick. My pic is MAC's Ruby Woo. Tip: for the perfect red pout, don't forget the red lip liner. It will make your red lips clean and flawless!!
